Fusing

I weld glass panes with metal filings and wires. Objects are created which show the inner life of glass and metal fragments retained in the material. In high temperatures metal oxides are released, creating additional graphic structures.

Glass and metal, through juxtaposition, create a new material, a new quality in my works. Joining glass with metal is contrary to the technological principles resulting from the different coefficients of expansion of these materials. In my creative search it is important to find the proportion of the raw materials used. At the basis there is duality, that is, the action of two independent, opposing energies that create unity only together. It is like good and evil which cannot exist without each other. This is what my spatial compositions are, where glass and metal interpenetrate, vibrate and create a closed whole. I create spatial images made of contrasts.
