THE CYCLE "PULSARS"
Pulsars are hand-blown glass objects in which impressions and material tension preserve the memory of movement; shifting light gradually reveals their successive layers.
Pulsars is a series where traditional glassblowing techniques merge with a careful study of the structures of living organisms. Each sculpture is created in a glass studio, where hand-pressed bas-relief impressions capture traces of gesture and time—marks of the process that become part of the object itself. They evoke vessels, fibers, and tissues: soft in contour yet charged with the tension of both material and formation. Varying degrees of transparency and rich colors make the glass come alive depending on light and placement—blue radiates energy, purple deepens the matter, while the transparent version emphasizes shape and its dialogue with space. A contrast is ever-present: the fragility of glass versus the permanence of an imprint, the ephemerality of light against the tangibility of form.
The possibility of mounting on a metal base highlights their functional dimension—these objects can serve as both sculpture and interior element—while optional lighting reveals additional layers of texture. They are records of single gestures and moments of creation—objects that preserve the memory of movement and, depending on spatial context, begin to “pulse” anew.
The PULSARS series was created at Huta Szkła Gospodarczego Tadeusza Wrześniaka Sp. z o.o. in Ładna, near Tarnów, Poland.
